The Eight International Congress on Peer Review and Scientific Publication in Chicago, September 10-12, 2017. The main theme of the congress was to explore the quality and credibility of peer review and scientific publication with the aim to find ways to improve the reporting and dissemination of scientific research. More than 600 publishers, editors and scientists gathered at the Swissotel in Chicago for the conference on scientific publishing. It was my first time attending this conference series that gathers every 4 years.

I participated in the 22nd Congress of the European Association of Dental Public Health – Challenges in Oral Epidemiology, which was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 8 – 10 June 2017. Vilnius was a vibrant and modern city, steeped in history and tradition. Attending this dental congress with my colleagues was also a cultural and social opportunity.
